King Lord, Queen Freak, a book of Ed Sanders' poetry with two prints by D. A. Levy was printed by Levy at his Renegade Press, dedicated "to the dope-freaks, poets, madmen & mother fuckers of the Lower East Side"It was one of several titles confiscated by the Cleveland Police Department when they raided Jim Lowell's Asphodel Book Shop on 1 December 1966, arresting both Lowell and D. A. Levy on obscenity charges, which were later dropped. The confiscated books were presumably destroyed.
First edition, one of 5 copies, signed by Ed Sanders in black ink on title-page and by D. A. Levy in blue ink on rear inside cover, from a total edition of 105; (179 x 153 mm, 7 x 6 in), irregularly sized white sheets with one sheet of yellow security paper (179 x 153 mm, 7 x 6 in), printed in green and black, prints by D. A. Levy, wire stitched, white wrappers printed in green and black, bound with adhesive at edge as issued, band of toning to upper cover, light handling, an excellent copy; [20]pp.
