Fresh example of this beautiful work on Leon Bakst, limited to only 330 copies. The numerous plates represent not only Bakst most celebrated costumes, but also drawings and theatre settings. The text was compiled by Carl Einstein (1885-1940), author of the important Expressionist novel Bebuquin (1912).

Limited edition, one of 330 numbered copies, large 4to (33.5 x 26.4 cm); 41 pp. incl half-title and title, 19 pochoir plates with captioned tissue guards, 29 tipped-in colour plates; vellum-backed gilt decorated brown boards, slightly sunned to top of boards, otherwise a fine copy.
