First edition, Todd's second impression (p.8 not numbered and running title reads; 'She Stoops To Conquer'); 8vo (21.5 x 13.5 cm); upper margin of half-title with small, neat tissue repair to closed tear, small ink lining above roman numerals on title-page, two small repaired tears to p.35, small stain to p.39, mark to pp90-91, neither affecting legibility of text, some soiling and general age-toning, otherwise still very good; modern quarter red morocco over marble boards, spine in 6 compartments with gilt lettering to second and gilt decoration to others, all edges gilt, three bookplates to front endpapers, two affixed to front pastedown and the other loose, some general signs of light wear, else very good; 107pp, [1]pp.
