A wonderful collection of the most notable contemporary polo players and their ponies with 45 black and white portraits. Number 11 of 250 special edition copies, this book also contains a 'History of Polo' by Newell Bent and biographical information on each player, with parallel text in both English and French.

This edition was the personal copy of Nicholas Colquhoun-Denvers, who was the Chairman of the Ham Polo Club and President of the Federation of International Polo.

Special edition limited to 250 copies, of which this is number 11; folio (43 x 29.5 cm); signed to title-page by editor and collaborators, forty-five photogravure portraits with tissue-guards, facsimile signatures to most portraits, age-toned (as expected), occasional light foxing to margins, one or two instances of spotting, though minor and not affecting legibility of text, else very good; full dark blue padded morocco with gilt lettering and equine emblem to upper board, moire silk endpapers, all edges gilt, one or two minor marks or signs of wear, else near-fine external condition; 119pp, [3]pp.
