This book is about the stockholdings and bonds owned by French and other foreign companies. There are also details about trading and the workings of the French Stock Exchange.

After the success of Des Fonds Publics (Public Funds), Jacques Bresson decided to write a new version, more complete and in accordance with the current deals of the 1849 Paris Stock Exchange. In this volume he expanded the information on railway companies, canals, bridges and maritime insurance. The 21 page appendix "Placements de Capitaux, petites ou grandes sommes, Mai 1851" (Capital investments, small or big sums of money, May 1851).

Ninth edition. 8vo (17.7 x 11.3 cm) pp. vii, 276, 21 appendix at rear, [4] publisher's advert, some spotting throughout, brown morocco backed boards, spine gilt lettered and ruled, slightly rubbed in parts; overall a good firm copy.
