After the success of Des Fonds Publics (Public Funds), Jacques Bresson decided to write a new version, more complete and in accordance with the current deals of the 1849 Paris Stock Exchange. In this volume he expanded the information on railway companies, canals, bridges and maritime insurance. The 21 page appendix "Placements de Capitaux, petites ou grandes sommes, Mai 1851" (Capital investments, small or big sums of money, May 1851).
