A fine set of views of Constantinople, the best pictorial record of the city at that time. As well as recording city and river views, the work also contains some unusual plates recording Turkish transport.

First edition; landscape folio (54 x 40 cm); pictorial lithographed title and 21 lithographed plates printed in colours, publisher's original dark green morocco-backed black pebble-grained boards decorated in gilt and blind, lettered in gilt on upper cover, light wear to spine extremities, corners and edges, an excellent copy.
