Tsvi Hirsh Bonhardt (a.k.a. HaMaggid from Wodzisław, c. 1745–1810) was a German-born wandering rabbi and author. His father, Yehudah Leib Bonhardt, was a prominent rabbi and scholar. Tsvi Hirsh Bonhardt's son was Rabbi Simcha Bunim of Peshischa - a famous Hassidic tsadic of his time.

Rabbi Tsvi Hirsh Bonhardt himself was not a Hassid but nurtured a close personal relationship with many of the early Hasidic tsadikim. He studied medieval Jewish philosophy and favoured the simple interpretation of rabbinic texts (peshat). Bonhardt published two compilations of his sermons - 'Asara LaMe'a' (1801) and 'Erertz Tzvi' (1786) offered here. Both works were widely received in Poland, with the 'Eratz Tzvi' receiving an approbation from the famous Rabbi Yehezkel Landau of Prague.

First edition. Small 4to (17 x 20.7 cm), late cloth-backed marbled boards, rubbed; title professionally restored, with index of chapters written in ink to verso; occasional staining to leaves; [4], 48, 16 ll.

Vinograd, Prague 969; Stefansky, Hassidut 69.
