One of Greene's scarcest novels, published in the UK a month after its US release in June 1936. Filmed in 1942 by Frank Tuttle as 'This Gun For Hire', starring Alan Ladd and Veronica Lake.

First UK edition, first impression; 8vo; one or two minor spots to prelims, else unmarked internally; publisher's red cloth, titles to spine gilt, publisher's device in blind to rear cover, red endpapers, spine sunned and a little frayed at head, a couple of light marks to upper cover, spine gently cocked; very good overall.
