Hannah Wilke (1940-1993) was an American artist who worked in various mediums, including photography, video, sculpture, and performance, to challenge and examine prevailing notions of femininity, feminism, and sexuality. She was one of the first artists to use vaginal imagery in her work to engage with feminist issues directly. This book was published to accompany an exhibition of the same name at Gallery 210, University of Missouri–St Louis (3-28 April 1989).First edition, signed and dated in black pen on title-page with a small vulva drawing; (184 x 252 mm, 7¼ x 10 in); black & white and colour photographs and illustrations, essay by Joanna Frueh, texts by Hannah Wilke; black endpapers, pink cloth-covered boards, titles to spine in black, photo-illustrated dust jacket, minor shelfwear, near-fine; 176pp.
