'Growing #5' employs Keith Haring's distinctive bold-line, figurative style to create a complex and integrated composition. Limbs, objects, and creatures are all prominent throughout the 'Growing' series, forming dynamic patterns of striking colours and intricate lines. Here, the outline of figures disintegrate amongst the frenetic shapes, fusing together to become one unified form and drawing attention to the themes of love, unity and acceptance which Haring strongly promoted in his art throughout the 1980s.
