Sir Ernest Frederic George Hatch (1859-1927) toured Japan, Korea, and China in 1901 and recorded the regions before the outbreak of the Russo-Japanese War, better known as the Manchuria Crisis.

First edition; 8vo; signed presentation inscription to first blank, 3 maps (1 large folding), 88 photographic illustrations, contemporary red pebble-grained half morocco gilt, top edge gilt, spotting to fore-edge, light marks to covers, a very good copy; xiii, 257 pp.
