4to (29 x 20.5); 180 engravings and 16 chromolithographs with illustrated frontispiece in colour,tissue guards, light spotting throughout, otherwise clean internally; panelled brown morocco with gilt fillet borders enclosing elaborate gilt tooling, spine elaborately gilt in six compartments, raised bands, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt, expected signs of wear to extremities, both boards slightly scratched, a very handsome copy; 572 pp.
