This book displays old Norse fairy tales translated into English with bright and colourful drawings. Nielsen was the director of the Royal Danish Theatre and also provided concept art to Walt Disney for many animated classics.

Deluxe limited edition; 4to (30.5 x 26 cm); 24 mounted, colour plates with captioned tissue guards plus iconic line drawings, unmarked internally; publisher's coarse grained amber cloth with a maroon title label to spine and inset to cover, titled and decorated in gilt, maroon endpapers and top edge gilt, small white mark to upper board, else near-fine condition; 284pp.
