A very unusual set of lacquered boards presented in the form of a portfolio with backstrip and remains of cotton ties, featuring illustrations of animals most probably featured in a local hunt with this album presented as a commemoration of the event.A pair of conjoined wooden boards, hand-painted and lacquered, the front cover painted in the centre in black with the head of an ibex, against a gold ground inside a foliate painted in each corner with flower panels, the rear cover painted in black with heads of nine horned animals against a gold ground filled with iron-red flowers, leather strip joining boards together and remains of black ties in place, extremities rubbed, covers slightly scuffed and faded. Measurements; 420 x 310mm (16½ x 12¼ inches).
