Unique edition printed on immaculately preserved crêpe-paper

The series were spectacularly illustrated by Japanese artists: Suzuki [Kason/Shoson] Kason & Arai Yoshimune.

Special edition issued on crêpe-paper; 5 volumes, small 8vo (190 x 140mm); series hand printed from wood blocks on Hosho Kozu Washi (mulberry fiber paper), each title tied with silk threads in the Japanese style, spectacularly illustrated throughout, list of advertisements to rear volumes 1 and 5 only, housed in publisher's Chitsu cloth case with two bone-clasps, front Chitsu cover lists titles of each short story sprinkled with gold, lettering to spine, inner box lined with illustrated paper, minor splits to cloth along spine, spotting to rear, apart from which the crêpe-paper is in superlative condition, hence near fine.
