White's landmark first novel - deeply uncommon the jacket. 3000 copies of the first impression, were quickly sold and a second impression made, after which, apparently fearing libel, White refused to reprint the novel.

First edition, first impression; 8vo; publisher's tan cloth, titles to spine in blue, orange topstain. With the dust jacket. Contents a little toned, spine lettering a trifle oxidised but a very nice copy in the rather worn dust jacket with loss at the spine and edges.
