An exceptionally well-preserved pop-up book from the pioneering German-born publisher Ernest Nister.

Landscape 4to (175 x 306 mm); six three-dimensional chromolithographic illustrations and other pen and ink in-line drawings, some text leaves with finger-soiling; publisher's pictorial paper boards, original red cloth spine, scratch marks to lower board, rubbing to extremities, few surviving copies retain all illustrations in such a lovely condition, hence very good-plus.
