Johann Elias Ridinger (1698-1767) was a German painter and engraver who studied at Ulm before establishing himself in Augsburg where he soon made a great reputation for animal paintings. He became the official painter for several great nobles, aficionados of the hunt. As here he represented animals accurately in the midst of well-worked landscapes.
4 mezzotint engravings by and after Ridinger (c.55 x 43 cm.), margins on all sides, framed and glazed, overall size: 68.5 cm by 58.5 cm.
