This annual contains the first publication of photographs from Robert Frank's series The Americans, an essay on Frank by Walker Evans, and a statement by Frank. It also includes Brassai's Graffiti series and portfolios and individual images by other notable photographers, including Edouard Boubat, Bill Brandt, Rene Burri, Mario Giacomelli, Tony Armstrong-Jones, Dorothea Lange, and Wolf Suschitzky.

First edition; (281 x 214 mm, 11 x 8½ in); black-and-white and colour photographs, a couple of corners turned; plain endpapers, cream cloth-covered boards, titles stamped in red and blue on spine and upper side, lightly marked, upper corner lightly bumped, head and foot of spine lightly rubbed, a very good copy.
