XVIII, tissue-guard opposite p.140 loose and inserted newspaper clippings to p.339 and p.347 with corresponding offsetting to vol. XXII, pasted in newspaper clipping to rear endpaper with pen caption to vol. XXV, otherwise, occasional spot, stain or mark throughout most volumes, generally not affecting legibility of text, overall very good condition with issues generally being minor; finely-bound by Stikeman & Co., near-contemporary half red morocco over red cloth boards lined in gilt, spine in 6 compartments, one-line gilt-panelled border with gilt lettering to second and fourth and ornate gilt decoration to others, marble endpapers, extreme edge offsetting of endpapers to all vols, general signs of wear due to age, including scuffs, marks and scratches, primarily to extremities though nothing drastically affecting integrity of the binding, more noticeable scuffs to rear panel of vol. I, liquid mark across upper board of vol. VII and vol. XIV, black mark on rear board of vol. XII and upper board of vol. XX, marks to upper board of vol. XIX, vol. XXVIII and vol.
