Teesdale (1776-1851) published numerous maps and Atlases of Great Britain and the world. Henry Teesdale & Co. dissolved in 1832 but he continued a successful career as a partner in the Royal Bank of Australia.
4to (38 x 26.5 cm); engraved title, 3 large maps of England, Scotland, and Ireland segmented on linen, with 2 double page maps of Wales and 43 double-page county maps including a four sheeter of Yorkshire, all of which hand-coloured with colour-washed borders; contemporary half calf with full gilt-ruled diced borders to boards, marbled panels, spine lettered in gilt in six elaborately gilt compartments, all edges gilt, in rubbed original protective slip case with gilt lettering, a fine copy.
