8vo (19 x 14 cm); with sixteen black and white illustrations throughout, prize bookplate to front pastedown, black and white frontispiece with tissue guard, minor foxing to prelims, else unmarked internally; full brown calf, double gilt fillet border, Batley Grammar School lettered in gilt on upper board, spine gilt in 5 compartments, raised bands, spine lettered in gilt on red morocco panel, slight spotting on leather, marbled edges and endpapers, colour on edges slightly faded, very good; 334 pp.
