TOZER, Rev. Henry Fanshawe
Turkish Armenia and Eastern Asia Minor.
Turkish Armenia and Eastern Asia Minor.
Stock Code 120014
London, Longmans, Green, and Co., 1881.
A versatile and hardy traveller, Tozer (1829-1916) made regular journeys in Greece and Turkey. This was his most far reaching book, travelling to the edges of Turkey into Armenia to gaze upon Mount Ararat, which he calls 'the roof of Western Asia', and around Lake Van into Northern Kurdistan. He writes touchingly of the land and peoples he encounters, and with a deep appreciation for the history and culture of the region.
