  1. First edition, first impression, limited issue, no. 72 of 100 numbered copies specially bound and signed by the author. Large 8vo. Boards just a little bowed but an exceptional copy of a book more often found in slightly tired condition.

  2. First edition, first impression, inscribed by the author; Publisher's wrappers, printed in black, wire stitched, upper wrapper browned, minor creasing, a very decent copy.

  3. First edition, sole impression, one of 25 copies printed, presentation copy inscribed on the first page by the author; spotting to outer leaves and sporadically throughout; self wrappers, string tied, rather foxed as usual but a very good copy.

  4. First English edition, first impression, inscribed to Paul Gallico; 8vo; publisher's black cloth, titles to spine in silver, fore-edges severely foxed, endpapers rather browned, spine cocked, very good in the somewhat sunned dust-jacket.

  5. First edition, signed by the author, number 7 of 110 copies, with a page of the original manuscript tipped in; 8vo; illustrated frontispiece after a drawing by Waugh, photographic plates, decorated endpapers, endpapers with tape marks; publisher's light blue cloth, spine lettered in gilt, top edge gilt, an unusually fine copy of a scarce item.

  6. Special edition, signed by the author, number 94 of 300 numbered copies, from a total edition of 310 (10 reserved for the author numbered i-x); 8vo; publisher's plain green boards, presented in matching slipcase, a bright and attractive copy.

  7. Limited edition, number 841 of 1,000 copies signed by the author and printed on handmade paper; 8vo; portrait frontispiece of the poet, publisher's japon-backed green boards, titles printed in brown on paper label on spine, green endpapers, some edges untrimmed, grey paper dust-jacket with label to spine. A superb copy in the very lightly tanned dust jacket.

  8. First edition, first impression, first issue binding; presentation copy inscribed by the author. 8vo; 2pp. advertisements, photographic frontispiece and 15 full-page illustrations. Publisher's blue cloth, titles to spine gilt. Boards lightly marked, spine just a touch faded and slightly rolled. Very good indeed.

  9. First edition, one of the limited issue, number 105 of 250 large paper copies signed by the author, large 8vo., plates and illustrations by the author not included in the trade edition. Publisher's purple silk, device to upper board and titles to spine gilt, top edge gilt, others uncut, with the silk marker ribbon intact (though frayed at very end. Spine faded as usual but an unusually nice copy.

  10. First edition sole impression. 4to (254 x 188 mm). Publisher's white cloth, titled in gilt to spine and upper cover, top edge gilt, minor foxing to endpapers, spine just a little toned but a truly exceptional copy and rare in this condition.
