LEWIS, Wyndham.

Anglosaxony:

A League that Works.

Stock Code
96591
Toronto, The Ryerson Press, 1941
£2,500

One of the author's scarcest books, extremely rare in this condition. Of the 1500 copies printed only 310 copies had been sold by February 1944. No record of what happened to the remaining copies exists, although the scarcity of the book suggests they may have been destroyed. The work, along with The Hitler Cult (1939) was intended in part at least as an attempt by the author to redress some of his perceived pro-authoritarian perspectives, in particular as previously applied to a then nascent Nazi party. Unfortunately the relative scarcity of this work did little to help Lewis in his endeavours and the stigma of seemingly pro-fascist leanings dogged him throughout his life.
