An account by 19th-century missionaries, sent to China by 'The London Society for Promoting Christianity among the Jews' who copied various Chinese inscriptions from local synagogues some dating back to 15th century. These and other documents were used to recreate detailed descriptions and plans of those old synagogues and of manuscripts kept in those synagogues, and to shed some light on Jewish life in China at the time. Scarce.
