Rare first edition with errata slip.. The first edition of London is one of the rarest English editions. The second edition was published only a year later in 1879. This copy contains a publisher's errata slip listing a few errors which is unusual as the Baedeker Handbooks had a remarkable reputation for accuracy and it is probably why the second edition was published so soon after the first. Maps include the Isle of Wight, plan of Crystal Palace and Windsor Castle.
Endpapers dated "April 1878".
First edition. x, 366pp, 4 maps, 10 plans, publisher's errata slip tipped before map, pocket containing large folding map rear split along one edge, previous owner's signature on endpapers; publisher's red cloth gilt, slightly worn along edges and extremities; a very good copy.
