The first work by Poujoulat, a French historian and journalist, translated into Russian and published 2 years later after the original in French. This fine copy of correspondence contains personal impressions on Italian architecture, history and customs. Title leaves are illustrated with Alfred D'Avignon's lithographs depicting the Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore and Agrippa's Pantheon in Rome.
Two parts in one volume 12mo (19 x 13.5 cm). Half-title, lith. title by Davinon [D'Avignon], X, 252 pp., [2]; half-title, lith. title by Davinon [D'Avignon], 243 pp. [2]; occasional spotting. Contemporary cloth binding, flat spine with stamped lettering; cloth rubbed and sunned, some soiling.
